Streaming Policy
Effective: 2026-08-13
Live selling is the heart of Artisans Paradise. It works because Buyers get to watch a real maker show real work in real time. This Streaming Policy is the rulebook for going live — what is welcome, what is not, and how we keep streams safe and honest for everyone. It applies to every Seller who streams and every person who watches or chats. For general conduct, read it alongside our Community & Anti-Discrimination Policy; for your auction and selling obligations, read it alongside our Terms of Service and Seller Agreement.
1. Who can stream
Any Seller who completes our self-serve onboarding — identity verification and Stripe payment setup — may go live immediately. There is no track record, sales history, or separate approval required to start streaming. We may still restrict, suspend, or revoke streaming access at our discretion for risk or for violations of this Policy, the Terms, or the Seller Agreement.
2. The maker must be present
A stream must be hosted by the maker. The Seller must personally appear on their own stream — on camera and/or on audio — and actively host it. We do not allow faceless storefront streams, and you may not have someone else sell as you while you are not present. The person selling is the person the Buyer came to see.
3. Streams must be genuinely live
Streams must be truly live and in real time. You may not present pre-recorded, looped, or AI-generated video as a live stream. What Buyers see happening must actually be happening.
4. All-audiences content only
Every stream must be suitable for a general audience. The following are never allowed:
- Nudity, sexual content, or sexually suggestive content — including artistic nudity.
- Graphic violence or gore.
- Involving or showing anyone under 18 on a stream.
Our payment processor, Stripe, also prohibits adult content, so this is a hard line for the platform as a whole.
5. Craft tools and process are welcome
Showing real tools and real process is the point — it is encouraged. Blades, torches, kilns, resin, soldering, woodworking and the rest of the maker's bench all belong on stream. What is not allowed:
- Unsafe or reckless demonstrations, or dangerous acts.
- Brandishing or threatening any person with a tool or weapon.
- Being impaired by, or consuming or using, regulated substances while streaming — including alcohol, tobacco or vaping, cannabis, or other drugs.
Show your craft; do not put anyone at risk, and stream sober.
6. Audio and music
Do not play unlicensed copyrighted music or media on stream. Use silence, your own original audio, or royalty-free or properly licensed audio only. You are solely responsible for anything you play, and you agree to indemnify Artisans Paradise for it. Repeated intellectual-property issues can cost you your streaming access. See our DMCA / Intellectual Property Policy for how we handle copyright claims.
7. Links and off-platform selling
You may mention or link your own social handles on stream. You may not:
- Solicit or direct Buyers to complete a sale or payment off-platform;
- Share off-platform payment details; or
- Spam links.
All sales must happen on Artisans Paradise. This protects our commission and keeps Buyers covered by our Buyer Protection & Refund Policy.
8. Accurate selling on stream
Represent your items truthfully while you are live — condition, materials, and size. Honor your auction results and your posted rules, and do not shill bid or fake scarcity. Auction and bidding obligations are set out in the Terms of Service and your Seller Agreement.
9. Giveaways
Seller-run giveaways are allowed if you follow our rules. If you run one, you must:
- Post clear terms;
- Where required by law, allow entry with no purchase or payment necessary, and ensure that a purchase does not improve the odds of winning;
- Fund and ship the prize yourself;
- Honor "void where prohibited"; and
- Comply with all applicable sweepstakes, contest, and lottery laws.
We may remove any giveaway at our discretion.
10. Chat and moderation
Sellers may moderate their own stream chat — you can mute, remove, or block viewers. Artisans Paradise can always override a Seller's moderation decisions. Everyone in chat, Sellers and Buyers alike, must follow the Community & Anti-Discrimination Policy: no harassment, hate, spam, or scams.
11. Recording
Streams and chat may be recorded, stored, and replayed for operations, safety, and promotion, as described in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. By going live or participating in chat, you acknowledge this.
12. Enforcement
We take a hybrid approach to enforcement.
For minor or repeated issues, we use a graduated response — a warning first, then a temporary restriction, then suspension.
For severe violations — including illegal activity, hate, threats, sexual content, unsafe acts, fraud, or off-platform circumvention — we may immediately mute you, end the stream, remove content, or suspend or terminate the account, without prior notice.
You may appeal any action taken against you.
This Streaming Policy is part of our Terms of Service and works alongside the Community & Anti-Discrimination Policy and the Prohibited & Restricted Items Policy.
