Fees & Payments Policy
Effective: 2026-08-13
This Fees & Payments Policy explains how money works on Artisans Paradise — what Buyers pay, what Sellers are charged, how payouts, taxes, and refunds are handled. It is the single canonical money policy for the Service and is incorporated into our Terms of Service by reference, and it works together with our Seller Agreement and our Buyer Protection & Refund Policy. In this policy, "Artisans Paradise," "we," and "us" mean Artisans Paradise LLC (Massachusetts, USA), and "Seller" and "Buyer" have the meanings given in the Terms. Our payment processor is Stripe; shipping labels are provided via EasyPost.
1. Free for Buyers
Buyers pay only the item price, shipping, and applicable taxes. There is no buyer service fee at this time.
2. Seller Commission
Artisans Paradise charges Sellers a flat 8% commission on the item sale price of every sale — whether an auction win, a Buy Now, or a stocked product. Sellers also bear the payment-processing fees charged by our payment processor (Stripe).
3. Payouts
Payouts are issued via Stripe Connect on the schedule described during onboarding, net of commissions, processing fees, refunds, chargebacks, and any amounts the Seller owes us. To manage fraud, refund, and chargeback risk, we or our payment processor may delay, hold, or reserve payouts, or require a reserve balance.
4. Payment Method & Authorization
A valid payment method (and, where required, a valid shipping address) is required to bid or buy. By bidding or purchasing, the Buyer authorizes us and our payment processor to place holds on and charge their payment method for the winning bid or purchase plus shipping and taxes (see the Terms of Service for bidding rules). Card data is handled by Stripe; we never see full card numbers.
5. Taxes
Where required by law, Artisans Paradise acts as a marketplace facilitator and calculates, collects, and remits sales tax, VAT, GST, or similar transaction taxes on covered sales; otherwise Sellers are responsible for determining, collecting, and remitting their own transaction taxes. Sellers are responsible for their own income and business taxes and any tax registrations that apply to them, and we may report Seller earnings to tax authorities (for example, IRS Form 1099-K in the U.S.) where required. Buyers are responsible for any import duties or customs charges on cross-border orders. Nothing here is tax advice.
6. Refunds
Approved refunds are funded by the Seller. We may advance a refund to a Buyer and recover it from the Seller's payouts or reserve — details are in our Buyer Protection & Refund Policy. Sellers bear the cost of chargebacks except where caused by our error.
7. Changes to Fees
We may change our fees or introduce new fees prospectively by posting updated terms or giving notice as required by law. Changes do not apply to transactions already completed.
